Grant details and eligibility

Review eligibility, coverage and required documents before applying.

Eligibility criteria

01

Applicants must have a valid foreigner ID issued by the migration authority as an international-protection applicant or status holder, be enrolled in an associate or bachelor's programme at a Turkish state university/higher-education institution, and have a cumulative GPA of at least 1.5 if continuing students; newly enrolled students are exempt from the GPA criterion. Syrian nationals under temporary protection, evening-class students, master's/doctoral students and DAFI holders are excluded. Residence permits or foreign passports cannot replace the required protection ID.

What the funding covers

02

A cash payment for the semester based on programme length. It does not provide university admission or automatically cover all tuition and living costs. Prioritisation may depend on application volume, budget, study level, field and academic performance.

Required documents

03

For the Fall 2026 call: the required foreigner ID (its validity must not have expired before 1 March 2026), an active student certificate obtained from e-Devlet after 1 September 2026 showing Fall 2026–2027 enrolment, and a current transcript showing cumulative GPA for continuing students. Newly enrolled students are exempt from the transcript requirement. Incomplete applications are not reviewed.

How to apply

04

The published call is closed after 15 October 2026. Do not rely on the old form or pay anyone promising to reopen it. When a new semester call is announced, review UNHCR's updated conditions, obtain a fresh student certificate and transcript, then submit the official form with all required documents. NEXA may provide separately priced document-preparation support, without guaranteeing an award.

Applying through NEXA is a separate paid service. The fee is explained before the process starts. Listing an opportunity does not guarantee eligibility, acceptance or funding.
