Grant details and eligibility

Review eligibility, coverage and required documents before applying.

Eligibility criteria

01

The programme targets highly qualified international PhD students and young postdoctoral researchers. The call sets requirements for research stage, academic record, supervisor/host and research field. The proposal and timeline must fit the call; the stipend figures alone do not establish eligibility. Check the next call to confirm your category, host and project are accepted.

What the funding covers

02

Monthly stipend by research level, travel to Türkiye at the start and return travel at the end, and private health-insurance support subject to approved limits. The published maximum duration is 36 months. Some reimbursements require receipts or proof, and payments are not retroactive for periods before the award decision.

Required documents

03

Prepare passport, proof of doctoral enrolment or PhD certificate as applicable, academic CV, transcripts, research proposal, host/supervisor details, timeline and invitation/approval letter if required. The system may request more documents; complete and confirm the application during the advertised period.

How to apply

04

1) Wait for the next call because applications are currently closed. 2) Read the call and confirm the PhD/postdoctoral category. 3) Coordinate the research project with the supervisor/host and prepare documents. 4) When the system opens, upload the file and confirm before the deadline. 5) Keep travel/insurance documents that may be requested. NEXA can review academic materials and organise documents for a separately disclosed fee; it does not award the fellowship or guarantee TÜBİTAK's decision.

Applying through NEXA is a separate paid service. The fee is explained before the process starts. Listing an opportunity does not guarantee eligibility, acceptance or funding.
